Flash Back Gallery - Pantheon of Leather

The Leather Journal began giving community service awards in 1988 and formed the Pantheon of Leather Awards show in late January, 1991 in Los Angles and Circus Dance Club. Pantheon of Leather has made its way around the USA with visits in Orland, Houston, New Orleans, Chicago, Los Angeles again, Atlanta and Dallas. 2020 was on hiatus due to the Pandemic and a new date is still undecided.

Southwest Leather Conference

The Southwest Leather Conference was held in late January in Phoenix, AZ. It was known as the "Woo Conference" due to its emphasis on spirituality in particular. This photo is of a drumming corps which played at the main events on Friday and Saturday nights in 2011. Southwest Leather Conference included workshops, classes, spiritual meetings and services for a variety of faiths, Southwest Master slave contest, group dinners, cocktail parties, an awesome hospitality suite, a limited vendor mart and huge play parties on Friday and Saturday nights. Folsom Street East

Folsom Street East XXII, with the theme SLUTS Fantasies Fulfilled, was held June 21-23 in New York, NY. Folsom Street East may be foreshadowed by the coming Stonewall 50 celebration which is expected to draw as many as 5,000,000 LGBTfolk this weekend, but it was huge and as successful as usual with estimates of double last year's attendance. IML 1974 Jeff Tucker and IML 2019 Jack were there. The street fair covered 27th Street between 10th and 11th Streets. Two huge stages, one at each end of the fair, pounded music out by DJs Chauncy Dandridge, Lorant and J Clef. The main event was the Folsom Street East XXII all day Sunday. many vendor tents went the length of the Fair featuring businesses clubs and organizations including Empire City Motorcycle Club. Groundbreaking at Eagle Plaza in San Francisco

Race Bannon of San Francisco's Bay Area Reporter recorded the Leather Plaza Groundbreaking at Harrison and Bernice Streets in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 18. This is the first plaza or park officially dedicated to the Leather community by any city in the world. San Francisco Mayor London Breed spoke, noting there was an original $200,000 budgeted and that California, through State Senator Scott Wiener, allotted $100,000 toward the project and that San Francisco is funding, the additional $50,0000 needed. There were ceremonial shovels, short speeches, and light refreshments. More info about Eagle Plaza can be found at
