SAGE and Friends LA raises $66,000
By Mr. Los Angeles Leather 2016 Jeffrey Erdman
Throughout my title year, I shined a light on the needs of our LGBT elders and most recently that work has continued for me as a member of the national Board of Directors for SAGE.
After a long pause on in-person fundraising, SAGE hosted its (previously annual) SAGE and Friends LA event on March 5th to raise much needed funds for SAGE's programs and advocacy work on behalf of LGBT elders across the country.
At the event, SAGE also honored longtime SAGE supporter and community advocate Bill Weinberger (partner at the law firm of Parker Milliken) for his many years of service to SAGE and also to our community here in LA. SAGE also honored local unsung hero Vallerie Wagner from APLA Heath for her long history of activism in the fight against HIV/AIDS and advocacy for eliminating barriers to healthcare for those impacted by HIV. She currently runs the largest medical clinic in the country
focused specifically on the POC community.
140 people attended the event at The Phoenix near Beverly Center, raising more than $66,000 for SAGE.

Leather and the Leather community
By Dr. Larry
I’ve always thought of ‘Leather’ and the ‘Leather’ community as a large tent—a sanctuary tent—with many poles holding it up—with each pole representing a part of our community —with all being safe and accepted under it’s protection.
One pole may represent the leather fetish ‘look,’ another Leather lifestyle, another BDSM, another kink, another gear, another rubber, another the ‘curious,’ and so on. With more poles, the tent becomes stronger, sturdier, safer, and more secure. And this is where we are evolving—in fact, this is where we are now. We should realize that our community is diverse, and the sooner we accept and internalize this—as difficult as it may be for some—the better off we will all be. Oh—and the more options we will all have! And options are good.

Desert Fetish Authority - Leather/Fetish Open Discussion
Join the Desert Fetish Authority for their monthly Leather/Fetish Open Discussion Group, Kink Talk! The purpose and topic is to talk openly about kink in fetish and how it enhances and affects our lives. They gather every second Saturday from 3-4:30 PM at the Barracks in Cathedral City. Stefen Burchard facilitates.
Most sessions have minimal structure, but they sometimes announce a topic in advance as a jumping off point. Stefen will allow the energy of the group - as revealed during the introductions and intent portion - to dictate where the discussion will lead.
The purpose of the group is to provide a forum for Leatherfolk to come together and speak uncensored about their experiences, desires and possible challenges in the Leather and Fetish community. Stefen’s intent is to facilitate an open, non-judgmental space in which Leatherfolk can all grow and learn from each other and become closer as DFA Brothers. With a few discussions under their belt, the group will take on a life, culture and direction of its own.

Oedipus MC Coronation and Homoto MC joint run
Spring is a big deal for members and friends of the Los Angeles-based Oedipus Motorcycle Club. First, their Coronation Ceremony, crowning of the next Oedipus Rex, will be on Saturday, April 9 at 3 PM at a private residence in Silver Lake district in Los Angeles. This is a fun installation of club officers.
Not long after, April 15-17 to be exact, the Oedipus Motorcycle Club will join up with Homoto MC of San Francisco for a weekend at Pinnacles National Park in Central California, with all of the bike club shenanigans one can hope. Roo for only 32 campers, so this one might already be full.
The Oedipus Motorcycle Club of Los Angeles was formed in 1958 for the purpose of providing a safe and comfortable environment for motorcyclists in the gay community. Their focus is on motorcycling and motorcycling-related events. Oedipus provides support for local gay community events that involve motorcycling and motorcyclists. Oedipus members and officers are dedicated to the preservation of the time honored history and traditions of this great organization. All riders are welcome on our rides and to our events.

The Future with Electric Motorcycles
From Empire City MC's Rumblings, writer unnamed
Editor's note - This is good, so you might want to click on the link below to read the whole story including benefits of electric and companies which already have electric motorcyclesf.
It seems like everything is turning electric faster and faster these days. Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota…. are all coming out with cars, trucks, and SUVs in electric versions. As combustion engines begin the process of fading away. I thought this would be a good time to start the research process into the world of Electric Motorcycles.
I hate to say it eventually our combustion engines motorcycles and gasoline to power them will start to become more and more scarce. I think within 5-10 years I will have to make the switch.
I will admit I know absolutely nothing about electric brakes. I think they are great for the planet; they look cool; and I am assuming they will require less cost to maintain over time. They will still require tires, brakes, lube jobs, and an occasional burned-out light bulb.
My first personal experience with electric motorcycles was with Harley Davidson’s Livewire....

What it feels like... to be a Dominatrix (plus the wildest things clients pay to do)
By Ally Head for marie claire.co.uk
Including pain, poo, and covering herself in custard...
You all saw Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala outfit last year – you know, the head-to-toe black ensemble, complete with face-covering mask, cape and heeled pointed-toe boots – and Julia Fox’s subsequent latex-clad looks, too.
The socialite stunned fans globally by covering the entirety of her body – face and all – just a week after she checked into the Ritz-Carlton hotel in New York clad head-to-toe in black Leather.
Many compared Kim’s outfits to that of a Dominatrix – others said she looked like she was wearing a gimp mask or bondage hood. Both are commonly used in BDSM role play or by those with rubber fetishes....
