Bruce Johantgen, January 29, 1942 - November 7, 2020

One of the most-loved Leathermen in the history of the Los Angeles Leather community passed away of cancer on Saturday, November 7. Michael Lara posted the following:
Who wants a Cheeseburger?.....
For the first time in the history of the Bullet Bar the Bullet sign is covered, all social media and the bar's web site have gone black and no events will be held until further notice, in honor of Bruce Johantgen!
I, as all of you, loved Bruce Johantgen with all of my heart. As I grieve with all of you the loss of Bruce, I also grieve our inability to come together right now and celebrate his life and what that he meant to each of us. Unfortunately, the reality is that because of Covid 19, and the hundreds of you who want to come together, we must wait. We must wait until we can remember Bruce together safely. Please be understanding of this and believe my promise that as soon as we can, we will safely celebrate knowing Bruce as a group. I, Michael Lara, will throw Bruce the grandest celebration of life that LA has ever seen.
Thank you to everyone of My, Bruce, and The Bullet Bar's family for the outpouring of love and support! Let's all honor Bruce by practicing safe health guidelines so that we may celebrate Bruce together. Sooner rather than later.
Fly, fly, so high against the sky.
So high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you.
Thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.
Michael Lara
I love you Bruce

Midwest Puppy and Handler leadership change

2020 has been a year of changes and like anyone else, our organization is certainly not immune. We wish to inform you that the original two founders of the Midwest Puppy and Handler Contest (formerly Midwest Puppy Contest) have chosen to step away from the organization. While they will no longer be a part of MWPAH, Papa Woof Roth and Puppy Boo will continue supporting their local STL-PAH and regional MW-PAH Facebook/Telegram groups. Having started and maintained one of the first regional leather and puppy contests, Papa Woof and Boo have worked tirelessly to make MWPAH one of the forefront organizations in the puppy and handler space. Their 35 years of dedicated service and efficiency at contest production will be sorely missed. With this organizational change Pup Scout and Daddy John will continue on as both owners and producers of MWPAH. MWPAH is watching the status of COVID-19 on the country and world. As a vaccine is found and the country’s positivity rate is controlled, an announcement will be made as to MWPAH’s next steps.

Dan Fabrici, November 9, 2020

By Stephen Palaschek

It is with the deepest of sorrow and with a very heavy heat that I have to announce the sudden passing of my housemate and former partner (2008-2014), Dan Fabrici Monday November 9 at midnight. Dan was a prominent figure on the national Leather scene, which I dragged him into kicking and screaming as I was SW Leatherboy 2008. Little did he know when he met me that would lead to him co-producing the Southwest contest from 2010-2013, as well as being president of Arizona Men of Leather. He was also a recipient of the Southwest regional award (please someone remind me of the name), which I nominated him for based on his tireless often behind the scenes commitment to the Leather community and it's charity work (Logan's Playground Toy Drive) while his boy ran around square in the spotlight of judging panels and emceeing events.

DomCon Virtual New Orleans Draws New International Crowd

By Jay Moyes

Cyberspace - DomCon Virtual New Orleans, the professional and lifestyle domination convention drew a new crowd of online guests from around the world. Attending were BDSM enthusiasts, professional Dominants and submissives, sex educators and those curious about the kinky lifestyle. The major difference with being online this year was direct access to the stimulating personalities who make DomCon successful. Event producer and founder Mistress Cyan was often available in the lobby, and present at the parties and socials. Mistresses of Ceremonies Mia Darkque and Ms Madyson attended in costume. Madame Margherite and Sea popped in often to check in and contribute to the ongoing enthusiasm in the video chat rooms. Interactive classes and workshops were a significant draw for this year's exposition. DomCon's first Halloween Fetish Ball featured Miss Cassie and Eve performing a "Cats" themed rope bondage suspension on the main stage.

Desert Fetish Authority - Power Dynamics Group

The Desert Fetish Authority presents a “virtual" version of the Power Dynamics Group monthly discussion on the third Sunday of each month via Zoom Teleconference. Attend with or without video. Available via laptop (windows or mac), tablets, android and apple cellphones, and ordinary telephones. The Power Dynamics Group is a group of men who are engaged in or have an interest in any connection between men that involves the exchange of obedience for responsibility, as in a Master/slave, Daddy/boy, etc. The next DFA event is their Power Dynamics Group on Sunday, December 20 at 3 PM. The Desert Fetish Authority is a brotherhood of men who are into fetish gear and kinky play and who want to learn more about both. We embrace the masculinity and the eroticism of our gear and seek to grow as men by incorporating advanced forms of sexual play into our lives. We want to find, hang out and have fun with guys like us, in real-life settings away from internet hook-up sites and chat rooms, where we can build true bonds of fraternity and friendship.

Rough Trade: COVID-19 Has Put Denver's BDSM Businesses in a Bind

By Kyle Harris for Westword

The pandemic is giving Denver’s BDSM community a flogging — and not the fun kind, says Denver dominatrix Elle, co-owner of Mile High Dungeon, which has closed because of both safety concerns and economic challenges. While other businesses have found some government relief, Elle says that her operation, though legal, is excluded from federal financial support programs. COVID-relief loans and grants are not available for businesses that are “prurient,” according to most application guidelines. Now, people in the erotic industry are negotiating....
