There are many reasons why I encourage you to go out and be with your chosen families this holiday season.  A few important reasons would be to SUPPORT OUR BARS, because well we need our spaces more than ever we need spaces we can gather in without judgement or discrimination.  I encourage those of you who don't have blood that you can go home to, to get OUT and mingle, have a meal and break bread with others.  Lean on one another and make what you can of the season.  Make a new friend, save a life? Save a bar?

baltimore eagle billboardThere are certainly MANY MANY bars I've left off this list, it was just to show you that there's a lot going on all over the world this December.  The men (and women) who run our bars try their damnedest to make every night special for us.

Now for a treat! There are some great holiday presents for you leathermen in Baltimore and Long Beach.  Amid so many closures...December will bring (hopefully without further delay) the opening of not one but TWO new Eagle bars to the USA.

After years of blood, dispute, sweat, and (I'm certain) more than a few tears, the Baltimore Eagle is slated for final inspections. The owners have promised if they pass this set of inspections there shall be a NYE to be remembered hosted at the completely renovated historic building located on 21st Street.

Then there is the west coast's ALL NEW EAGLE 562, which is hoping for a December opening.  Long Beach developer and long time owner of The Falcon Bar on Cherry in Long Beach Michael Barber has purchased the property formerly filled by Pistons Bar in North Long Beach and is currently bringing it up to code with hopes of a December opening.  We are waiting with high hopes that it brings the same welcoming vibe that the small neighborhood dive on Falcon and Cherry brings ... just with less light, more leather, and hot sex.

The SF Bay Area Leather Alliance, an all-volunteer 501(c)3, is proud to announce the opening of SF Catalyst, a new community-run educational and social space in SOMA. The 2,500-plus square foot space is now available for use by groups and organizations for events that are in alignment with the mission of The Alliance: to create a welcoming and supportive environment for members of the SF Bay Area Leather Fetish, Kink and Motorcycling communities.

Recently in Dallas, TX, executive producers from both the International Pup and Trainer Contest (IPTC) and the International Puppy Contest (IPC) made a joint announcement that, beginning in July 2017, both contests have committed to a two-year period of running concurrently in the same location. This is seen as just the beginning of a transition that will bring the two contests together again and, in so doing, provide the pup and handler community a weekend event that is truly their own.
