John O. Bernal III

John O. Bernal III, age 66, died on October 29, 2017 in his home in Palm Springs, California. John was born on October 2, 1951 to parents Betty Sue (Parman) and John O. Bernal Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee and grew up in Coco Beach, Florida. John previously resided and worked for many years in San Francisco before moving to Palm Springs. John was married to Paul T. Johnson. He is survived by his spouse and brother Charles who resides in Texas. John was an active partner in Off Ramp Leathers in Palm Springs with his husband Paul. John also worked at the phone company for 40 years, lastly as an IT manager. As an avid bicyclist John trained and participated in the AIDS/Lifecycle. He also took part in fundraisers for Visual Aid SF and was a member of the RMC Motorcycle Club SF. Together John and Paul loved riding motorcycles and camping and were regularly found gallivanting across the country and sleeping under the stars. Their last trip was to Wyoming to experience the total eclipse of the sun.

How you can include your information on Dave Rhodes' Hump Day - Writer Guidelines
If you come up with a date and basic information on a new event, please send us the date and a short detail or two. This is designed for the web site and less so for print, so there is no 45 days-in-advance deadline. If your event is happening on November 15, make sure I have it by Monday afternoon, November 6.

Writer Guidelines
Things to send:
1. Short article of about 90 words. So what if you are a few over. Just don't turn it into a Russian novel.

2. Photo or two. Landscape preferred. Must be a jpg. Taken with cellphone is fine. Please supply photo credit.

3. Link to a working site. Web site is preferential, Facebook still works.

4. Five "W's" - Who, what, when, why and where. All are important.

5. Please be concise. In news, verbosity is not a virtue; it is an editor's nightmare.

6. Send to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Style sheet stuff
When listing titleholders we use the title followed by the person's name - International Mr. Leather 1993 Henri ten Have, not Henri ten Have. One would say President Obama, not Obama, President. Less punctuation makes an

easier read.
