Jerry Barnes, October 8, 2017
Jerry Barnes, probably best-known in the Leather community as the owner of the Bum Steer bar in Phoenix, AZ in the 1980s and early 1990s, passed away at the Southwest Washington Medical Center south of Tacoma, WA at the age of 81. He and his partner, Michael Frank, moved to Hawaii before moving to Battle Ground, Washington. He met Michael on a visit to the Grand Canyon in 1987. Many Leatherfolk still reminisce the Bum Steer and its emphasis on the Leather clubs and later, titleholders.

18th Annual Mama's Family Toy Drive

The Russian River Sister's of Perpetual Indulgence from Guerneville, CA, hosted their Annual Community Holiday Dinner at the Veteran's War Memorial feeding about 400 individuals. On Christmas Day Sister Beatrix was the Mistress of Ceremonies hosting a Kings feast of dinner and desserts. Sandy "Mama" Reinhardt with her guests of honor Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their elves hosted the 18th Annual Mama's Family Toy Drive.

Cruise Night: Black 'N Blue
A benefit for the LA Leather Coalition and LA Leather Pride, Cruise Night: Black 'N Blue, will be held at Eagle LA Friday, December 29 at 9 PM. Writer Guidelines

How you can include your information on Dave Rhodes' Hump Day - Writer Guidelines
If you come up with a date and basic information on a new event, please send us the date and a short detail or two. This is designed for the web site and less so for print, so there is no 45 days-in-advance deadline. If your event is happening on November 15, make sure I have it by Monday afternoon, November 6.

Things to send:
1. Short article of about 90 words. So what if you are a few over. Just don't turn it into a Russian novel.

2. Photo or two. Landscape preferred. Must be a jpg. Taken with cellphone is fine. Please supply photo credit.

3. Link to a working site. Web site is preferential, Facebook still works.

4. Five "W's" - Who, what, when, why and where. All are important.

5. Please be concise. In news, verbosity is not a virtue; it is an editor's nightmare.

Style sheet stuff
When listing titleholders we use the title followed by the person's name - International Mr. Leather 1993 Henri ten Have, not Henri ten Have. One would say President Obama, not Obama, President. Less punctuation makes an easier read.
